HR definitively approves CGE 2021

The Assembly of the Republic approved, this Wednesday, in a final vote the General State Account (CGE) of 2021, with the votes in favor of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (Frelimo), party with parliamentary majority, and against of the opposition.

The CGE was approved, after a favorable opinion from a resolution presented by the parliament's Planning and Budget Committee.

Frelimo defended, last week, the viability of the instrument, considering there is an effort by the government to increase funds for sectors with impact on poverty reduction.

The Resistência Nacional Moçambique (Renamo) defended at the time the lead of the CGE, considering that the executive persists in disrespecting recommendations of the Administrative Court in the execution of the State Budget.

The Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) also called for the disapproval of the CGE, accusing the government of "sponsoring corruption" by ignoring alleged mismanagement of state resources in institutions under its tutelage.

Commenting on the positions of the parliamentary groups, the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, reiterated the Government's commitment to the rigorous management of public accounts, through measures and policies aimed at "planning, budgeting, and effective execution of State resources. (Vision)
