Anxiety when we go into business is often linked to the expectations we create for ourselves. Entrepreneurs are enthusiastic and, in the initial phase - as a beginner - they usually have a lot of emotions and self-created expectations. They think they're going to change or save the world; they think that the week after they start they're going to pump so much and quickly become rich. I myself, who am writing to you now, when I started Torradinhas Cashewnut factory, S.U, Lda, by my reckoning, I should have become a millionaire in the first three (3) months. Illusion of illusions.
In the beginner phase, it's normal to have this kind of enthusiasm and expectations, until you experience the reality of the entrepreneurial jungle. It is in real life that the entrepreneur manifests himself, because there is often a clash of reality between what the novice entrepreneur has idealized and the reality. true reality. Many people give up after seeing reality, but the true entrepreneur is tenacious and persists with determination.
So how do you fight anxiety?
To combat anxiety, entrepreneurs need to develop and consolidate their vision long-suffering. The vision long-suffering is supported by the following:
- A defined main objective. It's what we're really willing and motivated to pursue.
- Thinking of valuing marginal gains. This thinking focuses on building success gradually, that is, bit by bit, piece by piece, until a whole is formed. However, many people don't think like that. In fact, they believe more in a big moment, the "M" moment, or in an boom And thinking like this can easily make us give up, because we don't recognize the marginal gains that can be built up phase by phase over time.
- Know the process to follow on the journey. It's often said "respect the process".
In fact, we have to respect the process. But what process? What is the process? The process is a sequence of dependent events, and the entrepreneur needs to be aware of the dependent events in order to achieve success. Basically, to follow the process consciously and deliberately, the entrepreneur needs to know the previous point, the present and the next step or level.
With these three (3) points, I am convinced that the entrepreneur will be able to build and consolidate a long-term vision, a vision that is indispensable for combating anxiety and keeping the entrepreneur on his feet in the face of adversity.
