The dress that British singer Amy Winehouse wore at her last concert was sold for $243.200 million on Sunday in California, USA, during an auction of various items from the singer.
The green and black floral print dress was the most valuable piece in the singer's 800-item set, and the value of the acquisition is 16 times higher than the appraisal price.
The singer performed in the dress at a show in Belgrade, Serbia in 2011, however, a month later, on July 23, Amy Winehouse died of alcohol intoxication, according to police statements.
Besides this dress, so many other pieces of the singer's have been bought for high values, for example: a heart-shaped Moschino wallet that she wore to the 2007 Brit Awards ($204,800); Temperley London jumpsuit that Amy wore for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebration ($121,000), and other dresses sold for prices ranging from $12,500 to $150,000.
The auction was organized by Amy Winehouse's parents and auctioneer Julien's on Saturday and Sunday in Beverly Hills. The event managed to raise about four million dollars, and part of that amount goes to a charity named after the singer.
