Alunos invadem escolas e suspendem a realização dos exames em Maputo e Matola

Final exams have been suspended at Gruveta Massamba Secondary School in the municipality of Matola. According to a CanalmozWhen they were about to start their exams, controlled by servants and guards, students from the Daejo Community School, which is located behind and who are not taking exams in solidarity with their teachers, invaded the Massamba Gruveta School and tore up the exercise sheets.

"The students were told to leave their classrooms. The gates of Gruveta Massamba were locked. The students broke down the gates and others jumped over the wall," reads the publication.

Avenida de Moçambique, the main way in and out of Maputo city to the north, has been blocked since 7am with demonstrations in between. There is no public transport. And meanwhile, the unthinkable is happening on the same avenue.

Students from the Unit 2 School, where teachers are not giving exams due to lack of overtime payments, came out in solidarity with their teachers and invaded the Inhagoia "A" Primary School, where exams were about to be controlled by guards and servants.

It's the students themselves who are pulling their classmates out of class, saying that "there are no exams if they're not controlled by teachers".
