ADM to rehabilitate airports to meet demand

ADM vai reabilitar aeroportos para responder à demanda

The director of the Aeroportos de Moçambique (ADM) company revealed on Wednesday (28) in Marracuene (FACIM) that four airport infrastructures will benefit from rehabilitation work to meet demand.

This is Inhambane Airport, which will be renovated starting next October, and whose works will include the construction of a new passenger terminal, with the capacity to handle 160,000 passengers a year.

In the same month, work will begin on Beira Airport. Its capacity will increase from the current 450,000 passengers per year to around 700,000 passengers per year. The work is expected to be finished in September 2025.

The other infrastructure being considered is Pemba Airport, whose works will be carried out in two phases. In the first quarter of 2025, work is due to begin on expanding the passenger terminal, apron and opening up another aircraft lane. In the second phase, the runway will be extended from 1,800 to 2,400 meters so that it can accommodate large aircraft.

Nampula Airport will benefit from work to expand its passenger handling capacity.
