I read about it on social media and saw it on TV. In the middle of the morning of Friday (12), when it was around 10 o'clock, citizen Florindo Nyusi, son of the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, caused a cinematic accident on Avenida Julius Nyerere, in the city of Maputo.
Witnesses said he was driving drunk, at high speed, during rally practice. I had already heard that he ventured into these scenes of juggling steering wheels. The same morning was the second time he had passed the scene of the accident.
The accident resulted in two children, aged eight and seven, being run over on their way to school. One suffered a head injury and fainted on the spot, and the other a knee injury.
People who witnessed the incident say that Florindo's escort couldn't keep up with him because of the speed of his Mercedes. Such a fat boy and such a heavy foot!
Meanwhile, they lamented the fact that the president's son, who despite his alleged drunkenness was able to stand up, and his escort did not help the children. The escort was quick to forbid the people from taking pictures. The damage was already left to the technological winds, which, it has to be said, were faster than his millionaire Mercedes. We have all learned of the pedal adventurer's tragic feat.
To round off ten years of sometimes unsubstantiated rumors of Florindo running around in luxury cars, we are presented with a picture of ignorance of other people's lives.
The children remained lying on the asphalt until a civilian deigned to support them. In fact, it was this 'good Samaritan' who pulled Florindo Nyusi out of his Mercedes because his leg was stuck.
From everything I know, a couple of agents were sent to Maputo Central Hospital where the children were taken. There they said: we're only here to defend our bread.
