ADB and WB pledge almost USD 60 billion for clean energy projects

BAD e BM prometem quase USD 60 mil milhões projectos de energia limpa

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank (WB) will make almost 60 billion dollars available for investments in clean energy generation projects.

The ADB/AfDB promises to release 18.2 billion dollars and the WB 40 billion dollars to move forward with the initiative.

These substantial commitments are expected to catalyze more investment from private sector stakeholders, including sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms and venture capitalists.

The aim is to establish a solid financial basis that will enable Africa to harness its renewable energy potential while simultaneously promoting economic growth through sustainable industrialization.

Those interested in applying for the funds should submit their projects to the Global African Hydrogen Summit (September 9-11, 2025, Windhoek, Namibia).

The 2025 Project Investment Roundtables' 'Call for Projects' runs until March 31, 2025, and industrial and green energy project developers from across the continent can submit their projects to assess feasibility from origin to bankability and transaction.

Projects can be submitted via the online portal at  https://www.gah2s.com/  .
