Government spokesman Filimão Suaze announced today the discovery of yet another natural gas reserve, dubbed Baubap 1, in Area PT5-C, in the province of Inhambane, south of the bay of Mozambique.

During drilling operations for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons, natural gas appeared, below the G8 horizon.

"Further analysis showed that it was a new discovery," said the executive's spokesman.

The quantities discovered have not yet been determined, and measurement work is still underway. This work will determine its commercial quality. This "will determine the form of monitoring in the future".

Block PT5-C has as partners Sasol Mozambique with 70% of participating interest, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos with 30%.
