Duas escolas da cidade de Maputo recebem novas infra-estruturas de saneamento e higiene

Two primary schools in the country's capital will benefit from new sanitation and hygiene infrastructure, aimed at improving hygiene practices as well as the general learning environment, especially among girls.

These are the Saul Filipe Tembe (attached classrooms) and 10 de Julho elementary school in Maputo's KaTembe district, which, through the non-profit organization ÁGUA POR ÁGUA (ApA), will receive the official handover of newly-built sanitary blocks tomorrow, Wednesday (23).

"The initiative, called the WinS Maputo 2023 program, aims to improve sanitation and hygiene infrastructure in schools. These blocks will not only provide safe and clean sanitation facilities for pupils, but will also contribute to better hygiene practices, especially among girls, improving the overall learning environment," the NGO said in a statement.

ÁGUA POR ÁGUA (ApA) is a non-profit organization based in Maputo, dedicated to improving access to water, sanitation and hygiene in schools, positively impacting the lives of children and communities. Since 2018, ApA has been operating in Mozambique, providing access to water and sanitation to more than 9,000 students.
