Mozambique expects to receive more than 143,000 tourists during Easter

Moçambique espera receber mais de 143 mil turistas durante a Páscoa

More than 143,000 travelers, both domestic and foreign, will be able to cross national borders during Easter week.

Of the total, around 51,000 will pass through the Ressano Garcia border crossing, in the Moamba district of Maputo province, the country's largest border crossing, which in the same period last year saw an influx of 45,000 travelers.

The figures were released a few days ago in the district of Matola by the deputy director-general of Customs, Fernando Alage, at the ceremony to launch "Operation Easter 2023" throughout the country, which is due to end on April 17.

Alage called on the Joint Force involved in the operation to do everything possible to ensure greater facilitation, flexibility and friendly service for travelers who will be crossing national borders in the coming days.

During the operation, the Ponta do Ouro border crossing will extend its opening hours to 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., as opposed to the normal 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. opening hours. This measure aims to better respond to the demand for services during this period.
