Huawei Technologies Limitada, launched last Thursday a program to facilitate recruitment for jobs and internships targeted at Mozambican university students.
The National Employment Institute (INEP) answered Huawei's call to provide candidates with professional experience to grow in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The event was attended by the Director General of INEP, Juvenal Dengo and General Manager of Huawei Technologies Mozambique, Mr. Hou Qiang (António Hou).
The pandemic has dramatically changed our way of life, negatively impacting the global and local economy, resulting in an increase in unemployment levels. Huawei organized the Internship Fair in order to give students the opportunity to be able to gain professional experience in the ICT sector of the leading global provider of ICT and smart devices.
Huawei is committed to investing in local ICT talent through full-time jobs, internships and training programs, and to supporting government efforts to achieve digital transformation and promote economic development.
During his speech, the INEP Director General praised Huawei for its efforts not only in building Mozambique's ICT infrastructure through partnerships with the government and private sectors, but also in empowering and training the next generation of ICT people with the skills needed for the evolution of the ICT industry.
"We are very grateful to Huawei for all these valuable initiatives for our society and I hope that the candidates will stand firm on this opportunity and know how to be and be during this professional journey," said Director General of the National Employment Institute, Juvenal Dengo.
Huawei Mozambique's CEO has recognized the need to increase the number of ICT specialists in the country, which is why Huawei has taken the initiative to launch programs such as seeds for the future, ICT competition and the job and internship fair.
"This fair is a continuation of one of Huawei's initiatives to increase the country's human capital in the ICT sector through various projects such as Seeds for the Future and ICT Competition, as Huawei Mozambique's intention is to increase, in the near future, the number of locally hired specialists as a way to contribute to overcome the country's challenge in the digital transformation process," said CEO of Huawei Mozambique, António Hou.
