Mozambique collects 172 million dollars in agricultural exports

Mozambique earned about 172 million US dollars as a result of agricultural exports in the first quarter of this year.

The figure represents a growth of $80 million, when compared to the approximately $92 million raised in the same period last year, corresponding to a growth of 87, 5 percent.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development says, in a statement, that the exports of cashew nuts, pigeon peas, tobacco, sugar, and bananas contributed to this increase.

On the other hand, the institution announces the Macadamia Forum, one of the products with high export potential in the country, to be held this Thursday in Gúruè, Zambézia province, in an event to be chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Celso Correia.
