Tranquilidade gives three million euros to help Ukrainian refugees

The Portuguese insurer belonging to the Italian group Generali has created an "emergency fund" for the purpose, which includes a donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Tranquilidade, which decided to light up its building on Lisbon's Avenida da Liberdade in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, has created an "emergency fund" of three million euros to support refugee aid programs.

"Fulfilling its purpose and commitment to support the communities that need it most," emphasizes the Italian group insurer Generali, this support includes a donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which is at the forefront of the humanitarian response in Ukraine.

"Additionally, taking advantage of the already existing network of contacts of The Human Safety Net, a global movement driven by the Generali group, with the aim of supporting people in vulnerable circumstances, a global fundraising campaign was also launched, open to the contribution of all people, and Generali will contribute with an amount equal to the total donations collected," says Tranquilidade, in a statement quoted by the newspaper Negócios.

"Ukrainian families, especially those with children, and all those affected by this situation, need urgent help and Tranquilidade | Generali is not indifferent to this humanitarian drama that the refugees of the Ukraine conflict are going through," says Pedro Carvalho, CEO of Tranquilidade | Generali in Portugal.

Since 2020 Tranquilidade belongs to the Generali group, an Italian company that also owns Açoreana, Logo and Europ Assistance.
