Government fails to comply with PES 2021 in 28%

The Government acknowledged, this Tuesday, the failure of the 2021 Social Economic Plan (PES), although it has achieved 72% of the projected. Of the 551 planned indicators, 52% reached the target, 20% partially reached it, and 28% did not reach the target.

The spokesman for the III Session of the Council of Ministers, Inocencio Impissa, said that the Executive has not yet filled the deficit in the approved 2021 budget to deal with the current rainy and cyclonic season. Despite this, Impissa assured that the government is working with available resources to alleviate the effects of the inclement weather.

"That deficit may be reduced as we decrease the number of people at risk. The effort that has been made is to position and reposition the means in all the places where there is the possibility of this situation occurring," he said.

The accommodation centers that housed the victims of tropical storm Ana have already been deactivated, and only three remain, in the province of Tete.

This Tuesday the Government appointed Américo Muchanga to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aeroportos de Moçambique, replacing Emanuel Chaves.

Just yesterday the Council of Ministers approved the resolution that reappoints Domingos de Conceição Bié as PCA of the Mozambican Dredging Company.
