Gold is trading virtually unchanged this Wednesday at a value above $1,800 per ounce. Right now, gold is up slightly 0.02%, to $1,814.97 per ounce.
This stabilization comes after gold rebounded slightly as the dollar fell after a troubled start to the new year, when it registered its lowest value in six weeks due to rising US sovereign debt yields.
Counter-cyclically, silver and platinum are posting losses. Silver falls 0.39%, with the ounce depreciating to $22.97. Platinum, meanwhile, retreats 0.43%, with the ounce worth $971.22.
The Bloomberg Dollar Index - which compares the US currency with 16 rival currencies - is sinking 0.08% to 96.200 points. Meanwhile, the euro adds 0.11% to $1.1299, and the pound gains slightly 0.02% to $1.3533.
