The government said it will work, in coordination with the private sector, to expand the country's public water supply network.
The announcement was made after the signing of an agreement between the Executive and the Association of Private Water Suppliers of Mozambique.
According to the Inspector General of Public Works at the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Daniel Baloi, the government encourages the participation of private operators to provide water to the population.
For his part, the president of the Association of Private Suppliers, Adriano Chirute, the agreement signed with the government, will allow the integration of the private sector in the expansion of the water distribution network.
