Intra-African Trade Fair Reaches 90% turnover

The II Edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair achieved a turnover of about $36 billion, 90% of the expected $40 billion, Kanayo Awani, AFreximbank managing director, said, as quoted by African Markets.

Kanayo, who was speaking during the closing of the event, revealed that the data is still provisional and tends to increase", making it known that there is still business in transaction.

He made it known that the number of participants in the event exceeded the estimated 118%, that is, of the 10 thousand expected 11,828 participations were counted, and Mozambique was present through the Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports, APIEX.

Angola was represented by 30 companies from the oil, mining, beverages, manufacturing, construction, banking, culture and fashion sectors, among others, including ministerial departments.

The event allowed for the promotion of the Export Diversification Report, a joint study conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The event, the Intra-African Trade Fair, took place from November 15 to 21, in Durban, South Africa.
