Government guarantees that classes will not resume in Palma until next January

Government assures that the return to classes in Palma is scheduled for January 31 of next year, after an interruption caused by the attack last March.

The provincial director of Education and Development in Cabo Delgado, Ivaldo Quincardete said on Wednesday that although many infrastructures have been destroyed, classes will restart next year in the village of Palma. For this, the source said that the government will use tents, if necessary.

"We have more than 300 students enrolled in the first grade Palma district headquarters and everything indicates that on January 31, at the opening of the school year, classes will resume," said Ivaldo Quincardete.

The governor was speaking this Wednesday, in the city of Pemba, on the sidelines of a provincial government event that served to deliver teaching materials to displaced teachers who are in Pemba.

Several infrastructures were destroyed, including schools, in the district of Palma due to the armed insurgency that has been ravaging Cabo Delgado since October 2017.
