Government wants more proactive productive sector to revive the economy

The government urges the different players in the productive sector to be more proactive in finding solutions to relaunch the national economy.

According to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Carlos Mesquita, it is necessary that the economic agents participate, not only in the implementation, but also in the massive dissemination of the reforms approved by the Executive to allow the parties involved in the productive process to have their knowledge and mastery.

Carlos Mesquita, who was speaking a few days ago in the city of Beira, province of Sofala, at the opening of a forum called "Mozambique Agribusiness, Industry and Logistic Forum", said that the government is aware that no matter how positive is the performance of the public sector in defining policy lines and regulatory frameworks, the private sector should never be ignored or minimized, "because it is the leading and decisive role for the growth and revival of the economy.

"The discussions on challenges and reforms for the development of the agribusiness, industry, transport and logistics sectors are conducive to reaching agreement on the steps to be taken to remove the barriers that still plague the business environment in these sectors," Mesquita said.
