About 17 thousand new emerging small commercial producers are going to be financed for the agrarian campaign 2021/2022, through the direct fomentation of several crops, by means of technological packages, in Cabo Delgado province.

The initiative, part of the implementation of the SUSTENTA program, which is already in its second phase, has available for this phase, 30 thousand technological packages of peanuts, corn, and beans, and expects to benefit 30 households, including internally displaced people due to terrorism and host families.

The fact was made public last week, in Pemba, by the Secretary of State in Cabo Delgado province, António Supeia, during the launching of the second call for SUSTENTA, adding that those covered will be assisted by 300 extension workers.

For the adiministrator of the Chiúre district, Oliveira, the implementation of the second phase of SUSTENTA will boost agricultural production in his district.

The SUSTENTA Program, underway since 2020 throughout the country, has contemplated, in its first phase, 19 Emerging Small Commercial Producers in Cabo Delgado province.
