Construction work will soon begin on a small port on the Chongoene beach in Gaza, which will ensure the flow of the mining production resulting from the exploitation of heavy sands in Chibuto.
The guarantee was given by the Vice-Director of the Chinese company that explores the heavy sands of Chibuto, who informed that in a first phase, the port to be built will have the capacity to dock ships up to five thousand tons of cargo.
In order to proceed with the initiative, in the next few days the Mozambican government is expected to grant the license for the start-up of the Chongoene port construction project.
The source noted that in this project there is an anchor plan that in the medium or long term will build about two kilometers of ramp in the sea, in order to facilitate the docking of large draft ships for the transport of larger volumes of ores.
