Yango homenageia motoristas parceiras na celebração do Dia da Mulher Moçambicana

The international app-based transportation service Yango Mozambique, part of the global technology company Grupo Yango, has highlighted the role of female driver partners in the development of the passenger transportation sector in the country.

To mark National Mozambican Women's Day (April 7), women drivers in Maputo and Matola received gifts, including souvenirs and boxes of toiletries. They also enjoyed a special day, which ended with a spa and wellness session.

According to a statement, the company expressed its gratitude to its female partner drivers for their constant commitment, professionalism and exemplary service, setting a standard for others to follow.

"Since the start of operations in Mozambique, Yango has been at the forefront of integrating women into various activities that benefit the community. More and more Mozambican women are joining the app as drivers, earning livelihoods for themselves and their families, while providing quality experiences for all users. On this day dedicated to them, we wanted to thank them for their commitment to the service and encourage them to excel in any endeavor they get involved in," said Yango's general manager in Mozambique, Zameer Adam.

The manager promised to continue leveraging the technologies and resources at his disposal to bring more safety features and innovative projects for the well-being of female partner drivers and all users of the Yango platform.

Dona Esmeralda, a driver who uses the Yango app, felt happy and appreciated celebrating Mozambican Women's Day. "These gifts show us that our efforts are important. And to be able to go to the salon - that's rare for people like us, who are always on the road. As women who spend so much time on the road, it was very important to feel recognized - not just as drivers, but as women who contribute to the growth and development of our community."

"Since I started working with Yango, it has shown me the impact I can have every day - not just on my passengers, but also on my family. I earn consistently and can support my family," added Amélia, a single mother and Yango partner driver.
