Vendors at the new "Chicken and Magumba Market" receive management training

Since last Monday (15), the vendors of the new Chicken and Magumba Market, on the Maputo city's waterfront, have been participating in a training course on business management, finance, self-employed social security, and municipal regulations.

The approximately 209 market employees will have to follow the rules of conduct as laid out in the Internal Regulations and the Municipal Posture on Markets and Fairs.

The Municipality of Maputo, precisely the riverside area of Costa do Sol, will have a new look with the entry into operation of the new market, which results from the public-private partnership between the CTA, the Maputo City Council and the environmental cooperative REPENSAR.

Previously, sales of roasts and drinks were made in the open, on the beach sand, and without the minimum observance of hygienic and salubrious conditions.

The construction of a market to sell chicken and magumba (a variety of fish), is part of the plan to organize informal sales that the Edilidade has been implementing in recent times.

The handing over of the Market to the members of AFRAMA - Association of Chicken and Magumba Vendors, should happen later this week.
