Venâncio Mondlane promises tax exemptions for the transfer of companies

Venâncio Mondlane promete isenções fiscais para a transferência de empresas

The independent candidate for the presidential elections on October 9, Venâncio Mondlane, has promised that, if elected, he will implement tax exemptions for Mozambicans living abroad who want to transfer their businesses to the country.

Speaking to Mozambicans living in the South African province of Gauteng, Mondlane said that there are tax issues that make it difficult to transfer business to Mozambique, so he promised to "review taxes such as VAT (Value Added Tax) and customs duties, thus facilitating the return of Mozambican entrepreneurs to their country".

"We want to implement tax exemptions so that qualifications acquired abroad can be easily transferred to Mozambique, boosting the country's economy," he said in a post on his Facebook page.

Mondlane went on to say that he was continuing his international trip because he is betting on direct interaction with Mozambicans living in South Africa, as they are potential voters.

"One of the major challenges facing Mozambicans in the diaspora is the difficulty of integrating their children into the South African education system, as well as the complications in transferring business to Mozambique. We are going to create the conditions to speed up the processing of documents without the need to come to Mozambique," emphasized the candidate, explaining that these measures do not require external resources, but rather a reorganization of the political and fiscal process.
