Venâncio Mondlane says the country's wealth should benefit all Mozambicans

Venâncio Mondlane diz que a riqueza do país deve beneficiar todos os moçambicanos

The presidential candidate of the Democratic Alliance Coalition (CAD), Venâncio Mondlane, guarantees that he will work harder so that the country's wealth can benefit all Mozambicans, if he is elected in the general elections on October 9.

According to Mondlane, who was speaking on Sunday (07) during his visit to the administrative post of Murrébué, Mecufi district, in Cabo Delgado province, as part of his pre-campaign, his governance project aims to use the country's wealth to improve the well-being of the population and strengthen health and education services.

"We want Cabo Delgado's wealth to serve, first and foremost, the province itself and not Maputo. Your wealth shouldn't just be the province's reputation. That wealth should be reflected in your home, when you wake up in the morning, as well as in your pocket", said Mondlane, quoted by the AIM.

The politician also accused the ruling Frelimo party of implementing policies that benefit itself and not the population, since the country gained independence from the Portuguese colonial system in 1975.

"We want to work to improve people's lives, creating jobs for young people. We can't allow a few people from a political organization to control us and take advantage of all the wealth the country has," said Mondlane.

On the alleged attempt by the National Electoral Commission (CNE) to reject the CAD candidate lists for the legislative and provincial elections, the CAD presidential candidate said that "young people will not accept the rejection of our candidates for political reasons. We also want to advise those involved in such projects that this would not be a good idea."

The CNE has approved the provisional lists of candidates of all the parties running in the elections, except the CAD. No explanation was given for the delay in approving the DAC lists.

However, the CNE has until tomorrow, Wednesday, to approve or reject the lists.
