The Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed that individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 will be immunized against Covid-19 as part of the vaccination campaign aimed at reducing severe forms and deaths due to this global pandemic.
The move was announced days after it had mooted the possibility of administering the immunizer to individuals aged 12 to 17.
To this end, the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, stressed that the health authorities will introduce innovative strategies for the immunization of more Mozambicans.
"Among them is the introduction of the Vaccine Caravan, which will, starting next week, go to places of high concentration. The pilot phase will cover the city of Maputo, where it is expected to immunize, with a single dose, all people who are part of the target groups, but for some reason have not taken the vaccine," said the governor.
By this Tuesday, more than 4.2 million people had achieved complete immunity by having taken two doses, for Verocell, and Covishield or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
