Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), the largest and oldest higher education institution in the country, has announced the postponement of the entrance exams for the 2025 academic year, citing "reasons of force majeure".
The exams that were due to take place next week have also been postponed to a date yet to be announced at Lúrio University (UniLúrio) and Zambeze University (UniZambeze). In a statement released this afternoon, UEM stressed that the new dates will be communicated in due course.
"For reasons of force majeure, we would like to inform you that the entrance exams, previously scheduled for January 7 to 10, 2025, have been postponed. We are aware of your dedication and preparation for this important moment and we assure you that we are working to ensure that the exams are held in the best possible conditions," reads the statement.
However, the institution reiterates that it is aware that this postponement may cause some anxiety, "but we encourage all candidates to take advantage of this additional time as an opportunity to further improve their preparation".
