At least 2 222 kilometers of rural roads will be rehabilitated in the next four years in the provinces of Nampula and Zambezia, with the launching this Saturday in the city of Angoche, by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, of the Promove Transport Program.
This is an initiative that, among several benefits, aims to facilitate the flow of fisheries and agricultural products, in an investment of 124 million euros, funded by the European Union (EU).
In fact, the launching of public tenders is scheduled for next month for the selection of the works inspector as well as the contractors who will execute them. It is expected that by October 2022 work will effectively begin, which could extend until 2025.
The two provinces were chosen because, besides being the most populated in the country, they have a high agricultural potential in the inland areas and fishing potential on the coast, not to mention tourism.
Thus, PROMOVE will solve the problem of outflow of agricultural production in remote districts, but with an enviable agricultural and fishing potential.
