The Toyota Corolla, one of the best-selling models of all time, will have a renewed design, new finishes and a new 10.5-inch multimedia screen, starting in 2023. The announcement was made by the company itself this Thursday.

Inside, the highlight is the new 10.5-inch multimedia screen and the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.

According to Notícias ao Minuto, the engines will remain the same. As with the current model, two hybrid options of 1.8 and 2.0 liters are available. Both benefit from significant changes in the engine and electrical system that improve the driving experience with more power, better performance and response.

The lithium-ion battery is also more powerful, smaller, and lighter (weight reduction of up to 18 kg, depending on the powertrain).

The combined power of the 1.8-liter hybrid is 140 hp, bringing a 1.7-second reduction in acceleration time from 0-100 km/h to 9.2 seconds. For the 2.0-liter hybrid, the combined power output has risen to 196 hp and almost half a second has been reduced in the 0-100 km/h acceleration to just 7.5 seconds.

At the body level, Toyota promises a "Corolla for everyone", since there will be different versions: 'hatchback, station wagon - Touring Sport and the executive - Sedan. These will be joined by an SUV - Corolla Cross in the second half of the year.
