This is Joel Coen's first venture into solo directing in "The Tragedy of Macbeth," a film adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play.

The film was produced by Apple and A24, and stars Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. In "The Tragedy of Macbeth" they will play the roles of Lord and Lady Macbeth. 

In black and white, the film will follow the couple's homicidal power struggle plots and their consequent descent into a spiral of madness.

The teaser trailer consists of a number of different scenes with an eerie aura.

The film hits theaters on December 25. Via streaming, on January 14, 2022, by Apple and Apple TV+.
