Terroristas invadem uma localidade em Muidumbe e saqueiam alimentos

Last Wednesday afternoon, a group of terrorists invaded the Nguri irrigation site, located in Miangaleua, Chitunda administrative post, Muidumbe district, in Cabo Delgado.

The terrorists looted foodstuffs such as fish, corn and rice, among others. At the scene, the terrorists kidnapped more than two dozen residents to help them transport the looted goods to their destination.

The abductees walked all night with the terrorists to the place where they were ordered to leave their belongings. It is believed to be their base. All the kidnapped civilians were released in the morning and have already returned to their homes.

Since last August, part of the Muidumbe district has been difficult to access due to terrorist actions. These are the regions of Miangaleua, Xitaxi, Chitunda and Criação, located on the edge of National Road No. 1.

Terrorists have been laying mines there. Two vehicles, a Mahindra belonging to the police and a truck carrying civilians, have already triggered mines there.

The situation has forced hauliers to abandon the Pemba-Awasse route and switch to the Pemba-Montepuez route, which gives access to Mueda, Nangade, Palma, Mocímboa and Muidumbe. At the moment, it is difficult to access the Chitunda administrative post and its towns. ( CIP Bulletin)
