The presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, is holding a rally today in the Mateus Sansão Muthemba neighborhood, in the provincial capital of Tete, where he promises to talk in more detail about the governance project he wants to implement if he wins the October 9 elections.
Mondlane, who is supported by the PODEMOS party, held a national meeting with party officials yesterday afternoon to take stock of the first 20 days of the campaign. It is also known that throughout this week, the candidate will visit other districts in the province.
However, on his arrival, both in Moatize and in the city of Tete, Venâncio Mondlane promised to sit down with the multinationals to renegotiate the contracts, with a view to ensuring that the natural wealth being exploited in this region and elsewhere in the country provides a better quality of life for the population.
In any case, he pointed out that "Mozambicans have to pay more than ten taxes, but multinationals have many exemptions. Tete has the largest coal mine in operation, but practically only has tarmac roads to go to neighboring countries. That's why we have to review all these documents," he argued. (Jornal Domingo)
