Terroristas fazem mais dois mortos em Ancuabe

The villages of Nanoa and Nikwita, a few kilometers from the Ancuabe district in Cabo Delgado, suffered terrorist attacks that culminated in the death of two people last Saturday.

The killings reportedly took place in Nanoa, where one of the victims died after being shot and another person was burned to death.

The terrorists first attacked Nanoa, around 6:00 pm, and then the village Nikwita, the latter located along the Silva-Macua/Unguia road, according to data collected by a newspaper.

Survivors of the attacks say that several huts were reduced to ashes, and that the population is seeking refuge in Metoro.

In Nikwita village, the terrorists attacked and burned a Mahindra vehicle that is believed to be heading towards Nanduli village. "In the same vehicle were elements of the UIR and that part of them reportedly lost their lives at the scene of the attack," it reads.

With the worsening of the situation in Ancuabe district, the price of transport soared this Sunday, from 150 to 250 meticais to the city of Pemba and from 100 to 150 to the headquarters of the administrative post of Metoro, a stretch of just 18 kilometers.
