Sweden develops a bicycle park to promote sustainable mobility

Suécia desenvolve um parque de bicicletas para promover mobilidade sustentável

The Swedish government has developed in the city of Uppsala, a bicycle parking lot next to the Central Station. It is a space of about 2,000 square meters, divided into two floors, with a total of 1,200 parking spaces available..

Designed by a team from the architecture firm Tengbom, the bicycle garage focused on functionality, safety, and the use of environmentally friendly materials.

According to Tengbom, it was built in the shape of a triangle, with a wooden structure and glass facades, to ensure more light and safety for users. Inside the building you can see three distinct areas, the train platform, bus stops, and a viaduct. The roof is composed of solar panels and vegetation, which allows for the absorption of rainwater.

The project received the Architizer A+ Awards 2021 in June 2021 in the Transportation category.
