The number of deaths caused by the post-election demonstrations in the country has risen to 294

Three people died and another six were shot today, Thursday (09), the day of the return to Mozambique of the presidential candidate who is leading the biggest challenge to the election results in Mozambique since the first elections in the country, Venâncio Mondlane.

According to the Decide Platform, with Thursday's shootings, the number of deaths caused by the demonstrations that have been taking place in the country since last October now totals 294, with hundreds more injured.

The three deaths, according to the platform, were all recorded in the city of Maputo. "They are people who were crowded together waiting to see Venâncio Mondlane," the platform says.
