Sofala: Three people arrested for electoral offenses

Sofala: Detidas três pessoas por ilícitos eleitorais

Three people from Sofala province, in the center of the country, have been arrested on charges of electoral offenses, the Mozambique Republic Police (PRM) said.

Quoted by Radio Mocambique, the police say that eleven electoral offenses have been recorded since the start of the campaign.

The cases occurred in the districts of Búzi, Machanga, Muanza, Caia and Beira, and mostly had to do with the vandalization of propaganda material and physical aggression between members and supporters of political parties.

Despite this, the spokesman for the provincial command of the PRM in Sofala, Dércio Chacate, says that electoral propaganda in Sofala is running smoothly. (Image DR)
