Renamo's presidential candidate, Ossufo Momade, promised today to industrialize the town of Monapo and said that the country is not poor, but needs serious people to develop it.
On another day of vote hunting, Ossufo Momade asked the electorate to vote for him and his party in order to implement his project for the development of the country.
"We have projects, projects to develop Mozambique because Mozambique is not poor, Mozambique is rich. Mozambique needs serious people, serious people in charge, it doesn't need gangsters, it doesn't need corrupt people, thieves, we want to work," he said, quoted by the newspaper "O País".
Momade also said during the rally in the town that if he wins the elections, he will invest in the industrialization of the town, which once had several factories.
"We want to invite investors so that we can continue to have the factory here, so that we can continue to process our chestnuts, so that we can have the soap factory, because we have that capacity, for our young people, our fathers, our mothers to have jobs. These investors are not far away, because we know the ones who were investing here and we're going to call them. I know them, because they've been talking to me and I'm going to invite them so that they can come here again."
The candidate also spoke of the project to install three regional capitals in the country, with the political capital in Maputo city, the seat of parliament in Beira, the so-called capital of the central zone, and the economic capital in Nampula, also known as the capital of the north.
Momade clarified that the aim is not to divide the country, but to create conditions for the economic and social development of these regions of the country.
