A member of Frelimo lost his life as a result of the opening of the trunk of a car carrying people to receive the party's presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo.

The incident, according to the Electoral Bulletin of the Center for Public Integrity, took place on Monday (02), in the town of Sembezeia, in Sussundega, Manica province. In addition to the loss of human life, several other people were injured. The fatality was taken to the morgue at the Sussundenga Health Center.

Another car from Central Mavuze, which was carrying other members of the same party, overturned, causing one serious injury and several minor ones. The driver lost control of the car. No other causes have been identified. The serious victim broke his leg. He was admitted to the Sussundenga health center and later transferred to the Chimoio Provincial Hospital. The other people had been transported from the district of Vanduzi to take part in the Frelimo campaign, according to the document.
