Alberto Simango Jr. is submitting his candidacy for the position of president of the Mozambican Football League (LMF) for the 2024-2028 quadrennium today at 2.30pm in one of the hotels in Maputo city.

Simango Jr. is the second candidate to formalize his intention to replace Ananias Couana on the governing body of the I Division National Football Championship.

According to Desafio newspaper, Jr led the LMF until 2015, when he had to step down to become president of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) for four years (2015-2019).

To return to a familiar "home", Simango Jr. intends to bet on a credible, sustainable, innovative and competitive Moçambola.

In order to achieve this, the experienced manager has been in contact with club leaders, especially the railway workers who represent 50% of the voters at the General Assembly already scheduled for January 31st.

So far, Simango Júnior's opponents are Victor Miguel, who submitted his candidacy last Wednesday, and Quinito Sousa Júnior, former president of Textáfrica de Chimoio.
