The Russian-Ukrainian war has already led the West to impose several sanctions on Russia. Now, British oil company Shell has announced that it will stop importing Russian oil and gas.
According to Shell CEO Ben van Beurden, the company is aware that the decision to "buy a cargo of Russian crude oil" last week was wrong, and for this we are "very sorry.
The British multinational also announced the closure of its service stations, aviation fuel and lubricant operations in Russia.
Shell said that these changes may take weeks to complete and will also lead to reduced production at some of its refineries.
