The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in Cabo Delgado province is crying out for better working conditions.
The unit lacks its own infrastructure, transportation, equipment and human resources (staff).
The building where the force currently operates is in a state of disrepair and needs to be renovated and extended to accommodate all the departments.
"SERNIC suffers from a shortage of staff in all areas, a lack of buildings in the district directorates, a lack of operating funds, a lack of an approved budget for the operation of all the headings, which makes it difficult to carry out various tasks," said the provincial director of SERNIC, Sinésio Dias.
According to Notícias, he recently presented these concerns to Cabo Delgado's Secretary of State, António Supeia, as part of the celebrations for the seventh year of the creation of the force.
