On Wednesday (23) in Maputo, the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) denied allegations that the police authorities had obstructed evidence that could be used to identify the killers of Elvino Dias and Paulo Guambe on Friday night.
"Some opinions circulating on social media and in the press that there was poor management of the crime scene, that individuals who are not part of the management of the crime scene collected some wrappers and other instruments that could serve as evidence of the crime, are not true," said Hilário Lole.
The SERNIC spokesman said that the police had collected all the remains, including the belongings of the people who were in lawyer Elvino Dias' car.
"All the traces, such as casings, cell phones, computers that were in that car, as well as the surroundings of that place were collected by SERNIC," he said.
He assured us that SERNIC is committed to solving the crime from the outset.
"SERNIC is not unaware of this. We have been working from the outset to provide clarification," he said.
Hilário Lole appealed to society not to spread false information that could disrupt criminal investigations.
