The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, said today in the city of Lichinga, Niassa province, that the aim of the political dialogue with the political parties is to solve the country's problems.

According to Chapo, the occurrence of instability in the post-election period in the country has been going on since the first general elections were held in 1994. However, as he explained, for the good of Mozambicans, the current government's perspective is to address the concerns that cause "confusion".

"The aim of this dialogue is so that next time, when election time comes around, there will be no one to conjure up reasons to make a fuss," said the PR, in a speech marking his and the Executive's four-day visit to Niassa province.

He defended the commitment to peace, which is why, according to Chapo, no citizen has the authority to prevent, for example, the free movement of people and goods.

The PR said it was important to ensure peaceful coexistence so that infrastructure could be built that the province doesn't have and to provide goods and services for the population.

Last night, PR and former presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane met at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center.
