At some point in our lives we have all had a job that we didn't like. But in many cases, people cannot afford to quit a job they don't like. Thinking about this, the RH Portugal portal, citing the Alerta Emprego website, shared five strategies that will help you survive a job you don't like.
1. Set goals and objectives
Are you already working and looking for something better? Are you in a role that is not your own? Do you have problems with your co-workers? Define your goals and from there send out resumes and also participate in specific events or job fairs.
2. Set a time for yourself
If you are an underestimated and harassed person in your work, then the tendency for things to get worse is greater. So it is very important to take some time for yourself, especially before you start working. Engage in some activity that makes you smile, even if it's eating your favorite snack or listening to your favorite music.
3. Learn new skills
You may not get the job you really want because of lack of skills or knowledge. But fortunately this is bypassable, because it is never too late to learn something new that can then give you access to a new and better opportunity.
These days the Internet is full of free seminars and webinars that can help you grow and improve in some way. Many people gather various resources about their personal and professional improvements and go through training to achieve success, and know how to deal with problems.
4. Unpack
Accumulating frustrations and talking about "blowing up" can be dangerous not only for you, but also for others around you. Therefore, bet on continuous physical exercise and don't put aside other activities such as softball, bowling, or dancing.
A good option is also outdoor walks that will help maintain a positive outlook.
5. Stand firm
Whatever you have to do, do it well, regardless if it is something you hate. Not only will you get a sense of accomplishment and pride, but it may also help you get good references.
