Russia warns it will attack Western arms shipments

Russia's deputy foreign minister threatened the United States on Saturday that he may attack its arms shipments to Ukraine at sites seized by the Russian army two weeks ago.

"We have warned the United States that the arms delivery they are organizing from various countries is not only a dangerous move, it is an act that turns the respective convoys into legitimate targets," Serguei Riabkov warned in an interview with the Pervy Kanal TV Channel newspaper.

The minister referred in particular to portable air defense systems and anti-tank missile systems.

Sergei Riabkov also stated that the "security guarantees" Russia asked the West for, including the guarantee that Ukraine would never join NATO, are no longer valid.

"The situation has completely changed. The question now is to put into practice the goals of our leaders," he said, referring to the "demilitarization" of Ukraine called for by the Kremlin.

"If the Americans are willing, of course we can resume dialogue," he added, specifying that Moscow was ready, in particular, with regard to Start agreements to limit nuclear arsenals. "Everything depends on Washington," he concluded.
