The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) registered 280,878 young people between January 2nd and February 28th this year, representing a completion rate of 127% compared to what had been planned. Compared to the previous year, there was an increase of 1,70%, when 278,035 young people were registered.
Of the total number registered, 177,524 are male and 103,354 female. The initial target was to register 221,141 young people born in 2006 or up to the age of 35 who were unable to register on previous occasions.
A communiqué from the MDN to which we have had access points out the provinces with a record of more than 40% of the initial target, namely Zambézia with 147.63%, followed by Maputo Province with 142.02%, and Manica with 140.03%.
For this year's civic-military campaign, 1,670 census offices have been set up, of which 1,499 are fixed and 171 are mobile.
Among other things, the document highlights the success of the campaign in raising awareness among young people of the need to have their military status regularized.
