The 20-day pilot voter registration begins on February 1st, with the aim of testing the material to be used in the final phase of the census, as part of the local elections on October 11th of this year..
According to a press release from the National Electoral Commission (CNE), the process is reserved for three provinces, namely Nampula, Manica and Maputo province.
In Nampula province, the districts of Meconta, Mogovolas and Murrupula will be covered; in Manica, Mossurize, Vanduzi and Macate. In Maputo province, the districts of Matutuíne, Magude and Moamba.
Projections indicate that the process could cover 100,000 potential voters.
