A victim thwarted a kidnapping after causing the vehicle in which he was being taken by two citizens to overturn, in the city of Chimoio, Manica province.

He is a citizen who operates electronic money on public roads. He told the press that a customer of his had asked to withdraw 150,000 meticais. However, the operator became suspicious of the customer's indication to carry out the operation in an unusual place.

At the scene "he was shaking to do the operation", he said.

Then, inside the customer's vehicle, the mobile wallet operator was aggressively approached. He then struck the driver until he lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

"He didn't manage to take anything. I just have a sore neck. And the other guy who had squeezed my neck ran away," he said.

The police say they have clues to find the second person who escaped.
