Rapper Azagaia homenageado pela UNITA no parlamento angolano

A legacy for life! This is how UNITA began to describe the achievements of the Mozambican musician, Azagaia.

At the closing ceremony of the fifth Jura congress in the Angolan parliament, a representative of the opposition party, UNITA, paid tribute to the achievements of the Mozambican artist, Azagaia, who died of an illness in March.

"I also pay tribute to the young Edson da Luz, brother Azagaia, the icon of music in Mozambique, who used his voice to ensure the translation of the cries of the oppressed, the exposure of a regime that oppresses its people. Azagaia's artistic dimension ensured the rise of the struggle for civil and political rights in Mozambique as well as becoming an element of inspiration in the CPLP," said a deputy from the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).

"May the ancestors have him, and may his work continue to be disseminated in the community and beyond, studied and reproduced massively so that we can guarantee the life of a young reference for the continent, 'people in power'," he concluded.

Edson da Luz died at his home of an epileptic seizure.
