The contract definition of Mozambican striker Geny Catamo is certainly among the Black Bulls' biggest current interests.
The international plays for Sporting de Portugal, which owns 25% of his passport. The other 75% belong to Amora de Portugal.
The player's recent performances have sparked interest from several European clubs. Sporting themselves now want all of the left-winger's assets. The difficult negotiations with Amora should be concluded soon. If renewed, the contract, which expires in 2025, can be extended until 2029.
Geny Catamo has arrived at Amora, a club on the south bank of Portugal, from the Black Bulls of Mozambique, owned by businessman Junaide Lalgy. The Mozambican Bulls are entitled to a percentage of what Amora receives in the event of Catamo's transfer.
Until August of this year, the value was estimated at 510,000 euros, around 35 million meticais. Sporting had until September to acquire Geny's pass for 600,000 euros. However, the deadline has passed, the Mozambican's price has risen and the game could change in favor of the Bulls.
Junaide Lalgy believes, however, that the percentage he is entitled to for Catamo's pass is unfair. He says there has been bad negotiation on the part of those in charge of the process. "Of that part of the player's economic rights that are at Amora, 85 percent belong to the Black Bulls," he said in an interview with The Ball, shared by Lance.
